September 22
As we aproaches Altus, AR, Cu formed rapidly. This one eventually became a well formed supercell, but the road network and the forward speed of the storm wouldn't let us keep up with it. We continued east to catch the next storm.
Rocky takes a picture of the next storm as it aproaches us. we are just north of Marchall.
This lowering was NE of Marshall.
Near Big Flat, this wall cloud raced eastward. there was no real organized rotation in it.
That cell got ahead of us, so we targeted the next storm.
It tried to fool us with fake funnels.
We spent the night in Cherokee Village where radar estimated rain fall totals of 15".
The next day we saw some creek flooding.

May 30
This was a very promising day. one supercell formed along the TX-OK border and moved south. We had a great view of it as it went through several stages of organization.

May 4
Our original target was Andrews, TX. After waiting and trying to find where there would be initiation, we finally saw some towers go up to our NE. We started to go for them, but they were very soft and hard towers were going up to our SE near Big Springs. We went for them. As we got there it got it's act together. Our only road option to get to the right side was on some dirt roads. We ended up in the core getting pounded with 2.5"+ hail. as we got gust W of Mertzon, the hail got to 3+" and blowing sideways. I lost one headlight from the hail. We made a retreat to the West. Then inched our way back east. In Metrzon, we found some 4" hail.
May 3
We started out in Childress, TX. eventually towers started forming to our SW. We encountered a nice base and some hail near Ralls, TX. Then got on the beast of a storm near Clairemont.
May 1
Today's target was ADA, OK. There was a tongue of moisture heading up to the area adn convergence along the boundary would hopefully trigger some storms. It was not to be. We did manage to get a good sunset out of the day.
April 30
The first chase day of Tour #1. Today we didn't expect anything. By early afternoon, moisture and warm air was advecting up to north-central Oklahoma. A chance of storms was there. We decided to go for it, even though we didn't expect much out of it. As we approached the storms, we could see that they were very high based and low topped. They did look very interesting anyway. The first cell raced ESE out of our reach and put out a cold outflow boundary. Another storm formed west of it. We got a great view as it approached us and overtook us. It put out a lot of soft hail. We sow several great views of rainbows before the storm got too far east and it was time to find diner and call it a night.
April 6
This was a solo chase. Target was Bartlesville, OK.
I set up there and soon a cell formed to my SW. Today storms were moving very rapidly to the NE (45-50mph) so I had to stay well ahead of them to maintain my position.
This cell was coming straight for me. I moved a little farther NE to stay ahead of it. It cought up with me just west of Coffeeville, KS. THere was a nice wall cloud and lots of CG, but I never saw a tornado despite a report of one in my location.
March 30
This was my first chase of the season. Along with me was Matt Biddle in his first chase since his stroke in December.
The storms tended to be outflow dominant.
