The fun side of storm chasing

September 22, 2006

As we aproaches Altus, AR, Cu formed rapidly. This one eventually became a well formed supercell, but the road network and the forward speed of the storm wouldn't let us keep up with it. We continued east to catch the next storm.

Rocky takes a picture of the next storm as it aproaches us. we are just north of Marchall.

This lowering was NE of Marshall.

Near Big Flat, this wall cloud raced eastward. there was no real organized rotation in it.

That cell got ahead of us, so we targeted the next storm.

It tried to fool us with fake funnels.

We spent the night in Cherokee Village where radar estimated rain fall totals of 15".

The next day we saw some creek flooding.
