June 13, 2001. This was a difficult day. We watched storms along the MN/SD border and picked one with promise. We got under the meso and tried to keep up with it until it produced a tornado. Road options forced us to leave it temporarily. We caught back up with it just south of Odessa, MN where we saw a tornado wrap around the meso. Our road ended due to construction and all we could do was sit there and watch it. Later other storms formed further south. We went to Minneota, where we saw a high based cell produce several funnel clouds and one interesting feature in the rain core.
