May 8 2001

May 8 2001. Today was a travel day. We headed to Salina, Ks. Storms formed to our west and north-west. We downloaded radar to find that the storms were rotating. Tornado warnings soon came out. We went to just south-west of Concordia to watch one storm. It looked real prommising as we approached, but soon lost its organization. We watched the sunset when that storm passed. A better looking storm was visible to our north. We saw a nice lowered base and it tried to form a funnel at one time. There was a lot of lightning from the storm, but it never produced a tornado and soon lost its organization.
